CATECHIST SISTERS OF ST.ANN

 

 

  • On 5 April, 1864 born at Picenengo, Cremona Italy.

  • Baptized on 10 April, 1864 named as Abramo Secondo Silvio.

  • ordained on 17 December, 1887 for the Diocese of Cremona.

  • On 17 August, 1896 Joined the Pontifical Institute of Foreign Missions(PIME).

  • On 8 October, 1897 arrived in India as PIME Missionary.

  • From 1897 – 1902 served as Missionary at Raichur and Bidar in Karnataka.

  • From 1902 – 1915 served at Mattampally, Nalgonda,Telangana State.

  • On 6 January, 1914 founded the Congregation of Catechist Sisters of St.Ann at Mattampally,Nalgonda.

  • From 1915 – 1917 served at Peddautapally,Krishna Dist.,Andhra Pradesh.

  • From 1917 – 1941 served at Eluru,West Godavari Dist.,Andhra Pradesh.

  • On 7 July, 1924 left for his heavenly abode and buried at St.Michael’s Church,Eluru.

  • His mortal remains are preserved at Sacred Heart Chapel(Holy Land),Eluru.

  • on 3 December, 2014 received ‘nihil obstat’ from the Holy See to begin the process of Beatification.

  • On 25 April, 2015 officially declared as the “Servant of God”.
